Speech Pathology has been my passion and profession for the past 30 plus years. My profession has rewarded me with opportunities for personal growth and recognition. I have enjoyed the unique challenges each new client presents as they come through my door.

Through the years I have taken great pleasure in creating new directions in my work settings. As a mentor teacher for with San Mateo County Office of Education I consulted and trained other speech/language pathologists and special education teachers in the areas of augmentative and alternative communication and assistive technology (AAC and AT). I gave workshops in AAC and AT and also in the areas of speech and language disorders. I worked with children birth through three and developed a parent-child program. In the early 1990's I created the San Mateo County Augmentative and Alternative Resource Center and provided services to all 24 school districts within San Mateo County. In the late 1990's the center became the Assistive Technology Resource Center. It expanded its services providing assistive technology assessments, on-site trainings and direct services to children throughout San Mateo County. I conducted computer-lab courses on assistive technology software through San Mateo County's Summer Institute. I won the J. Russell Kent Award, recognition from the San Mateo County Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and was a nominee for the People Who Care Award.

I have worked with children from birth through twenty-two years of age and all disabilities. I worked for San Mateo County Office of Education as a Speech/Language Specialist and an Augmentative Communication and Assistive Technology Specialist. I have worked as a private consultant to school districts and had a private practice in Speech Pathology.

I received my BA at San Jose State and my MA at San Francisco State University. I have a Certificate in Assistive Technology in Education. I have taken course work in numerous techniques including Hanen Programs (It Takes Two to Talk and More Than Words); the PROMPT method (Basic PROMPT and Bridging PROMPT), TEAACH, SCERTS, PECS, and Beckman Techniques to name a few.

At the present time I am a Speech/Language Pathologist at Community GatePath.
